PayU’s BNPL (buy now, pay later) solution LazyPay has announced a partnership with Zepto, a 10-minute grocery delivery business sponsored by Y Combinator, to enter the fast-increasing quick commerce market.
According to the company, “LazyPay ventures deeper into the hyperlocal/quick-commerce category with this cooperation, further boosting its merchant network of over 38,000.” The alliance will transform the supermarket shopping experience for Zepto customers, thanks to LazyPay’s rapid adoption of the BNPL solution.
The partnership, according to the company, might help Zepto’s client adoption by leveraging LazyPay’s large customer base. Zepto will benefit from LazyPay’s near-perfect success rate, which will reduce cart abandonment, in addition to quick checkouts.

Zepto customers in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad will be able to use the BNPL option, according to the business.
Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, both Stanford University dropouts, founded Zepto, which launched its ultra-fast commerce service in April. Zepto is the newest player in the rapid commerce field, Zepto is entering the rapid commerce industry — defined as delivery in 45 minutes or less — at a time when well-funded and larger businesses such as Swiggy, Grofers, Dunzo, and BigBasket are also doubling down on the sector.
