Wipro acquires AI startup Linecraft to expand its digital capabilities


Wipro Infrastructure Engineering’s industrial automation unit announced a definitive deal to purchase Linecraft.ai, a Pune-based AI-enabled industry 4.0 firm.

Linecraft.ai leverages the power of both automation domain expertise and artificial intelligence (AI) & machine learning (ML) to enable manufacturers to improve operational efficiency and production in real-time. The program was developed by a team of AI & ML experts and engineers using a patented algorithm and has been successfully implemented on sophisticated automated industrial assembly lines around the world.

“Our industrial automation business has grown significantly in the last four years. We always envisioned that we would bring in latest cutting-edge technologies to our customers in their journey from industry 3.0 to industry 4.0,” Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), said. “This acquisition will further help us expand our digital capabilities and offer turnkey automation solutions with bolt-on digital layer which provides deep insights and analytics to customers, The  patented technology collects and analyses large amounts of data from industrial machines and recommends ways to optimize productivity using AI, ML, thereby significantly enhancing the customer value proposition.”

According to the firm, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering’s acquisition of PARI, which has over 1500 workers and a strong global footprint, represents a key milestone in the group’s strategic expansion in the digital area.
