United We Care secures $1.5 million in seed round led by marquee investors

United We Care, an AI-powered platform for mental health and wellness, has obtained $1.5 million in seed funding from several investors, including Pramod Bhasin (Founder and CEO of Genpact, Operating Partner at Kedaara Capital, Co-Founder of Asha Impact, and Co-Founder of Clix Capital), Kunal Shah (Founder and CEO of Cred and Founder of Freecharge), and Asif Suraya (Founder and Editor of Inside Arbitrage and VP of Mindful Health Solution), among others. The funding will be used to further develop the platform and expand its reach.
United We Care is a Singapore-based company founded in 2020 by Shumita Kakkar and Ritu Mehrotra. The company delivers complex interventions across cognitive, physiological, and behavioral frameworks. They leverage technology and global frameworks to provide support and interventions to individuals, families, and employees. Their aim is to provide safe, secure, equal, and inclusive professional guidance and therapeutic support for overcoming emotional challenges from the comfort of one’s home.
The app has a proprietary interface called Stella that speaks 29 languages and understands over 40 emotions. It has been developed by leading neuroscientists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Stella is critical in supporting the lifelong journey of improving and maintaining mental health, and an average of 85 messages are shared in a single session with her. The interface builds around the conversation and understanding of user needs.
United We Care’s Founder and CEO, Ritu Mehrotra, expressed excitement and delight in raising a fund that aims to decrease mental health problems and anxiety disorders worldwide. The organization offers both mainstream and alternative therapies, including yoga, meditation, art therapy, dance movement, and music therapy, through recorded and live sessions. Mehrotra believes the investment is a validation of their strategy and execution and will help accelerate the development of their platforms to assist people facing any mental health issue. With millions of lives already impacted, the organization’s goal is to touch even more.
United We Care’s Co-founder and COO, Shumita Kakkar, acknowledges that breaking through the taboo of mental health in India is difficult. However, she notes that the company has formed numerous B2B partnerships to promote emotional wellness in the Indian workforce.
With over 500,000 active users, United We Care has a returning user rate of 56% and an average usage time of 18 minutes. The app has positively impacted millions of lives, with 200,000 subscriptions and coverage in over 50 cities. United We Care offers wellness programs that last from three to eight weeks and are designed to address a range of issues such as insomnia, relationship conflicts, anxiety, and motherhood-related emotional challenges using a multidisciplinary approach.
