Temasek in talks to invest in Google-backed DotPe

Temasek is a Singapore state owned investment firm that is in talks to invest in Google-backed DotPe, which assists the business in India sell and establish themselves digitally. It is about to raise $50 million in the new financing round.
The investment is about to finalise deliberation in the Gurgaon- headquartered startup. The terms may change and it could end up without being materialised. DotPe helps start-ups, brick and mortar shops to get recognition online.
Restaurants that use the startups facility scan their inventories to make them accessible digitally through WhatsApp. Users can easily order food with the help of DotPe without using any other medium like swiggy and Zomato for the purpose.“DotPe doesn’t do its own delivery but will work with delivery partners for last mile delivery.”

The startup has PayU and Info Edge Ventures as backers. The offerings by DotPe chase the same audience as Zomato/ swiggy.
The Gurgaon based startup was founded in 2019 by Anurag Gupta, Gyanesh Sharma, and Shailaz Nag whereas Temasek is a state-owned company that manages investment on behalf of the Government of Singapore, financed by government reserves.
