Swiggy delivers 3.50 lakh Biryani, 61,000 Pizzas on New Year’s Eve

According to company sources, food Delivery app Swiggy , delivered 3.50 lakh biryani orders on New Year’s Eve. By 10:25 PM the app dispatched 61,000 pizzas all over the country.
Swiggy also stated that according to a Twitter poll, 75.4 percent of orders were for Hyderabadi Biryani, followed by Lucknowi-14.2% and Kolkata-10.4%.
“Biryani was the most popular item delivered, with 3.50 lakh orders,” sources told PTI.
On New Year’s Eve 2021, Bawarchi, one of Hyderabad’s top biryani selling restaurants, delivered two Biryanis per minute, and on December 31, 2022, it prepared 15 tonnes of the delicacy to meet demand.
“@dominos_india, 61,287 pizzas have been delivered, we can only imagine the number of oregano packets going with them,” Swiggy said in another tweet.
“The party is already off to a fast start – we have already delivered over 1.3 million orders and counting. Our fleet & restaurant partners are geared up to make this NYE unforgettable. Pro-tip: order early to beat the rush,” Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy CEO said in a tweet last evening.
Aside from these, Swiggy Instamart had delivered 1.76 lakh packets of Chips as of 7 p.m. on Saturday. The grocery delivery platform also delivered 2,757 Durex Condom packets. According to the food delivery service, as many as 12,344 people ordered Khichdi by 9:18 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
