Funding Alert

Home decor startup Sunday Design raises $1.5 million in funding

Sunday Design, a manufacturer of furniture and home furnishings, has secured $1.5 million from a number of family offices, including those of Havells India, SRF Ltd. (Kama Group), and coal logistics company KCT Group, among others.

The firm transports their items all throughout India, but they have a customer service center in Sultanpur, Delhi. Their debut line, the “Fifties Collection,” pays homage to the Italian design revolution that occurred in the middle of the 20th century. The company states that it has expanded at a 10% monthly pace since its beginning.

Gautam Baid, founder of Sunday Design, said, “We are appreciative of the confidence shown to us by both new and current investors, who have pushed us to realise this ambition and have a bigger effect. With this funding, we hope to work with leading European designers and expand our omnichannel presence by releasing product lines strategically. Within the next two fiscal years, we want to increase by 100%.”

By opening retail locations in Mumbai and Bengaluru, as well as an online shopping platform, Sunday Design intends to leverage the additional funding to increase both its online and physical presence.

By fusing rattan, glass, and metal with organic materials like leaf veins, it plays with texture. The company is getting ready to introduce an interactive website that will let customers see their preferred design built with various materials and give them a sense of how these items will appear in their homes.
