Savings firm Tortoise announces Nikhil Joy as the company’s co-founder

Tortoise, a save now, buy later (SNBL) company, announced the addition of Nikhil Joy as a co-founder and the chief of its financial product line. Prior to joining Tortoise, Roy served as vice president and head of product at ZestMoney, where he was in charge of accelerating the startup’s development. Joy’s new position would involve managing the expansion and development of products.
Vardhan Koshal, cofounder and CEO of Tortoise, stated, “Nikhil has experienced both the expansion of the BNPL market and the issues that have resulted from it. There is a critical There is a need for innovation in the savings sector, and Nikhil is best suited to lead the SBNL product at Tortoise.”
Nikhil is a former employee who now runs his own company. He graduated from IIM Kozhikode and is a part of the RBIH-UIDAI working group for innovation in KYC and identity management.

Roy stated, “After spending a lot of time working in the buy now pay later sector, I’ve come to understand that the depth of the Indian market needs affordable solutions that go beyond credit. Tortoise is a great way for customers to receive the most value on their purchases without having to pay the entire price all at once.”
