Bengaluru-based gaming startup, MetaShot, has successfully raised $400K in a pre-seed funding round, with Inflection Point Ventures taking the lead. This round of investment also garnered support from an early-stage gaming-focused fund and notable angel investors, including the likes of Dineout’s founders – Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain, and Khalid Qazi.
The funds procured will be strategically allocated to bolster team expansion, fuel growth-centric marketing endeavors, and drive innovation through research and development initiatives, according to a press release by MetaShot.
Co-founded by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Behera, and Ajith Sunny, MetaShot offers a captivating cricket experience, enabling users to engage in the sport from the comfort of their homes. Its unique platform facilitates social interaction, allowing players to enjoy matches with friends or connect with fellow enthusiasts from different parts of the world.
Currently, MetaShot operates within the Bengaluru market and has ambitious plans to extend its footprint to other cities during the second quarter of the current fiscal year. The company envisions further expansion into cricket-playing nations in the near future.
In a related development, gaming giant Krafton recently announced its commitment to invest $150 million in Indian gaming and tech startups over the next two to three years, underlining the continued growth and potential of the gaming industry in India.
