According to a recent survey by IT management company GoTo, at least 93% of SMEs in India prefer consolidated IT tools to increase productivity and reduce costs.
The study examines the nation’s small and midsize businesses’ (SMEs’) current IT priorities and assesses the global trends of IT decision-makers at businesses with fewer than 1,000 employees.
The survey also reveals that SMEs must choose the right set of goals and objectives to maximize their investment, company growth, and process streamlining in addition to facing economic uncertainty, reprioritized budgets, and overburdened resources.
According to the study, IT decision-makers use consolidated IT tools to lower costs and boost operational efficiency.
The survey conducted in India revealed the key business goals that the IT decision-makers shared to guarantee the success of their organizations and support for their staff and clients. These primary goals included raising income, enhancing operational effectiveness, cutting costs, and boosting customer happiness.
According to the poll, Indian SME workers continue to prefer hybrid employment. Despite the fact that 48% of knowledge-based employees work from offices, the poll found that 37% of them still do so.

Similar to this, 39% of the organizations’ senior management favors the hybrid work arrangement, while 45% prefer to work from the office. The overall statistics tells a similar tale, and hybrid work continues to be the industry standard.
Consolidating communication, collaboration, and IT management and support tools is regarded as an important initiative for the year by 90% of SMEs in India. Increased productivity, easier and more effective IT management, and cost savings are the main drivers behind the consolidation of IT tools, it was added. The study also revealed that 41% of businesses worldwide intend to change technology vendors in order to save money.
The study also found that 45% of Indian SMEs said they used an IT help desk system. Around 22% of respondents believe that IT help desk systems have the greatest influence on worker productivity, with collaboration tools and project management software acting as ancillary influences.
