WayCool Foods, a leading food and agri-tech platform, has forged a strategic alliance with IIT-Madras (IIT-M) to enhance the range of solutions available to farmers through IIT-M’s cutting-edge RASA (Regenerative Agriculture Sustainable Architecture) technology stack.
WayCool Foods, leveraging its extensive knowledge and practical experience, will augment the agri-stack by delivering groundbreaking agricultural solutions to foster a robust ecosystem for regenerative agriculture in India. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) facilitates a collaborative effort between WayCool Foods and IIT-Madras to synergistically combine their offerings, empowering farmers to transition towards a sustainable agricultural model for maximum benefits.
In line with a recent press release, WayCool Foods will contribute its technical expertise to facilitate the implementation and growth of the RASA stack. The company will leverage its extensive knowledge of the agricultural supply chain, spanning from soil management to final sale, to enhance the design and structure of the agri-stack. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to promote knowledge sharing among farmers, focusing on sustainable agricultural practices.
Karthik Jayaraman, Managing Director – WayCool Foods, said, “We are confident that synergies between WayCool Foods and IIT Madras will provide farmers with access to the most advanced technologies equipping them to take proactive measures to combat climate change as the Indian farmer prepares to feed the world.”
The RASA Tech Stack, conceptualized and constructed by IIT Madras in 2022, serves as a powerful tool for farmers, enabling them to proactively monitor and optimize their cultivation and harvesting processes for optimal outcomes. This comprehensive stack covers the entire farm-to-kitchen cycle, encompassing pre-cultivation, cultivation, harvest, storage/shipment, marketing, and payment, thereby facilitating seamless management across the entire value chain.
IIT-M Pravartak CEO, M.J. Shankar Raman said, “Through this collaboration, we hope to create innovative solutions that can address some of the key challenges faced by the farming and agriculture industry today. By leveraging sensor technology and data science techniques, we believe we can help improve crop yield, reduce waste, and increase farmers’ income. This will also create new opportunities for growth and innovation in this space,” he added.
