Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Renews Partnership with Telangana Government to Upskill College Students

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), a leading FMCG company, has announced the renewal of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana. The partnership aims to upskill an additional 10,000 college students by 2023-24, following the successful training of 10,196 students in the previous year.

The extension of the initiative was announced in the presence of Mr. Ch Malla Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Factories, Skill Development, Government of Telangana, along with other dignitaries.

Known as the “Campus to Corporate” program, the collaboration focuses on making college students industry-ready. The Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) plays a key role in creating student batches, identifying locations for training sessions, and managing the training calendar. HCCB, on the other hand, develops content, identifies trainers, conducts Train the Trainers programs (TTT) to expand the pool of expert trainers, and organizes virtual and physical classroom sessions.

Mr. Ch Malla Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Factories, Skill Development, Government of Telangana, emphasized the importance of the MoU and the government’s vision of preparing quality human resources. He praised HCCB for its partnership in enabling underserved youth to join the productive workforce.

Dr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, IT, E&C, acknowledged the exemplary joint initiative between HCCB and the Government of Telangana, highlighting HCCB’s contribution to the government’s skilling efforts and making youth more employable.

Mr. Shrikant Sinha, CEO of TASK, regarded the partnership with HCCB as a significant milestone, expressing confidence in achieving similar results in the future. He emphasized the importance of creating a skilled workforce in the state and encouraged other organizations to join this endeavor.

Mr. Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Officer at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Telangana’s growth story. He commended the state’s favorable business environment, as evidenced by HCCB’s establishment of a second factory. HCCB remains committed to collaborating with the state in upskilling Telangana’s youth to meet industry demands.

Under this initiative, HCCB and the Government of Telangana will jointly certify students who complete their training at the Career Development Centre (CDC), operated by HCCB in partnership with NIIT Foundation.

Furthermore, HCCB and the government will involve manpower resourcing companies to enhance the curricula at the Career Development Centres, enabling direct sourcing of talent for these companies. This intervention aims to improve the placement rate of trained youth. Additionally, both parties will collaborate to expand financial and digital literacy programs to reach populations currently not enrolled in such initiatives in the state.
