FreshR raises $1.2 million in a fresh funding round led by Alixor Ventures and 1crowd

FreshR, a fish and meat distribution firm, announced on Thursday that it has secured $1.2 million (Rs 9.33 crore) in a fundraising round headed by Axilor Ventures and 1crowd. FreshR plans to use the new funds to extend its geographical reach, develop and execute its technology stack, and hire more people.
Ambika and Sadananda Satapathy launched FreshR, which had previously secured a pre-seed round from Villgro, Upaya Social Ventures, Beyond Capital Fund, and other early-stage investors.
Earlier this year, the company launched an application which is a one-of-a-kind resource to standardise pricing and grades for the industry, allowing bulk purchasers from throughout India to make orders and follow quality procedures.
FreshR has grown, sold, processed, and delivered very perishable meat products in some of Odisha’s, Andhra Pradesh’s, and Chhattisgarh’s most distant locations since its start.
Ambika Satapathy, co-founder of FreshR said that the firm’s objective is to organise the domestic market by leveraging technology to respond to this fragmented demand and investing in world-class infrastructure to manage pan-India sourcing and delivery.
