Former Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari Named President and CEO of Honeywell’s High Growth Regions Portfolio

Anant Maheshwari, previously at the helm of Microsoft India, has been designated as the President and CEO of Honeywell’s High Growth Region portfolio. Honeywell’s proclamation on August 4 has paved the way for Maheshwari to assume his new role on September 4, taking over from Ben Driggs, who is transitioning to another leadership position within the company.

Maheshwari’s upcoming responsibilities encompass steering business expansion across Honeywell’s geographies, spanning China, India, Southeast Asia, Europe’s Central and Eastern regions, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Reporting to Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur, he will be stationed in Dubai, UAE. Kapur affirmed Maheshwari’s potential to propel profitable development, building upon Honeywell’s established growth track record. Drawing from his diverse experience spanning decades, Maheshwari is well-positioned to amplify Honeywell’s presence and augment its business domains, including controls, automation, software, digitalization, and sustainability.

“Honeywell has a long-term track record of growth in this portfolio. Anant will help build on our demonstrated success, accelerating our ability to drive profitable development for the company,” said Kapur. “Anant’s experience over the last two decades proves that he has the ability to deliver impactful results for a diverse set of industries. He is the right person to continue to deliver our local-to-local presence and expand Honeywell’s business in controls and automation, software and digitalization, and sustainability.”

During his tenure at Microsoft, Maheshwari effectively steered the company’s India operations, engaging with policymakers, customers, and partners. His oversight extended to product, solution, service, and support offerings. Prior to Microsoft, Maheshwari held pivotal roles at Honeywell, including his role in the India growth strategy, culminating in his leadership of Honeywell India.

Maheshwari’s return to Honeywell is anticipated to catalyze the company’s growth trajectory, particularly in burgeoning regions. His academic background comprises an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, coupled with a Master’s in Economics and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.

Honeywell, renowned for pioneering technologies that address global challenges in energy efficiency, clean energy generation, safety, security, and customer productivity, recently reported revenue of $35.95 billion.
