Deep tech startup Spyne acquires photography service provider Travographer

Eventila Technologies Pvt. Ltd, the parent company of artificial intelligence-based business photography startup Spyne, announced on Wednesday that it had acquired photographic service provider Travographer for an unknown fee. Spyne, investors including Accel, Storm Ventures, Angellist, Smile Group, Pentathlon Ventures, and Core91, expects to hire over 100 people in technology, marketing, and sales in the next quarter.
The Gurugram-based firm also stated that with the purchase, it has brought on over 20 new employees and plans to grow its real estate reach. Spyne, founded in 2018 by Sanjay Kumar and Deepti Prasad, uses artificial intelligence to help huge e-commerce marketplaces and retail firms generate high-quality product pictures at scale.
Currently, the firm services over 80 customers across 15 countries, including Amazon India, Flipkart, Karvi, OLACars, and SellAnyCar. Spyne raised funding in 2020 as part of a pre-Series A round managed by AngelList and with participation from the Smile Group.
Travographer, founded in 2017, is a global provider of photographic services in the real estate business. Among the well-known companies on the site are OYO, Belvilla, Makemytrip, Goibibo, Tanza Living, Zolo Stays, Fab Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels, Club Mahindra, Sterling Holidays, and Taj Hotels.
Sanjay Kumar, the co-founder and CEO of Spyne stated that by acquiring Travographer’s personnel and experience, the company wants to improve its services and provide more value to the consumers. This acquisition has enhanced its business obligations even further. The company’s next step is to deliver AI-App-based shot products in the real estate market.
Kapil Arora, Travographer’s Co-Founder and CEO said that such skills and industry understanding have not only put them on a growth trajectory but will also help them compete with new global entrants.
