Cargill, a renowned company, has recently ventured into the pet care industry with the introduction of Zoonivet, a pet-care app. Zoonivet, a digital platform launched in October, serves as a Telehealth solution, offering a simplified approach to pet healthcare. Through video calls, the app connects pet parents with qualified veterinarians, catering to their pets’ primary healthcare requirements. With the goal of providing convenient and easily accessible veterinary care, Zoonivet enables e-consultations for pet owners nationwide.
Since its inception, Zoonivet has successfully conducted over 800 video consultations nationwide and has achieved a significant milestone of surpassing 100,000 downloads on the Play Store. This year, the pet-care app has taken a step further in its commitment to pet health by introducing home vaccination services through the platform.
Initially piloted in Bangalore, the service has already administered over 400 vaccinations, and Zoonivet plans to extend the home vaccination service to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow by the end of this year. Additionally, the pet-healthcare brand has launched surgery and home diagnostic services for pets in Bangalore and has future plans to expand the platform to provide services such as medication, pet food, and pet boarding across all major markets throughout India.
Commenting on Cargill’s focus on innovating through digital solutions, Simon George, president, Cargill India, said, “At Cargill, we are committed to improving the lives of consumers by bringing innovative and customized technology interventions to the forefront. Last year, we announced the launch of Digital Saathi, a mobile-first, AI based local online service platform to support farmers. This year, with Zoonivet, we are signaling further investment in the space of digital pet healthcare.”
Sharing his insights around the pet-care industry, Ruchir Vatsal, founder, Zoonivet, said, “India is one of the world’s fastest growing pet-care markets in the world. We currently have a population of over 22 million dogs and 5 million cats in the country, and an annual growth rate of 17%. With Zoonivet, we’re bringing pet-care to consumers’ doorstep and solving everyday problems like commuting in busy metros, taking time off work, scheduling appointments with a vet. As we expand further, we will continue adding tech-led interventions to enhance the consumer experience on the app, while ensuring fur babies get quality services, at the click of a button.”
Zoonivet, in honor of reaching the milestone of 100,000 downloads, recently hosted an exciting event called Zoonithon in Bangalore. The event featured a pet marathon tailored for large breed dogs, small breed dogs, and cats. Alongside the marathon, a pet adoption drive took place, offering the opportunity for interested individuals to find a furry companion. Additionally, veterinarians were present at the event, providing free consultations for attendees.
