Bollywood Diva Kareena Kapoor Khan Ventures into Fresh Food Startup ‘Pluckk

Pluckk, a new entrant in the fresh food domain, has formed a partnership with Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, marking her debut investment in the startup sector. Pluckk, established in July 2021 by Pratik Gupta, is a digital-oriented brand offering a range of fresh fruits and vegetables (F&V) in the lifestyle segment. With a selection of 400 items across 15 categories, including essentials, exotics, hydroponics, cuts, mixes, and DIY meal kits, Pluckk is making its mark.
Earlier this year, in May, the startup acquired KOOK, an Indian food-tech startup specializing in DIY meal kits, sealing the deal at $1.3 million.
“As a mom personally, the quality of food is very important to me. I look forward to being a part of Pluckk’s remarkable journey and commitment to help consumers eat right in all of India,” Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is also a brand ambassador for the startup, said.
Over the last quarter, the company reported sales of over a million products, leveraging its distinct offerings through direct-to-consumer (D2C) and marketplace channels. Pluckk’s products are accessible through its dedicated Android and iOS app, as well as partner platforms such as Amazon, Swiggy, Dunzo, Zepto, and Reliance Signature Stores.

Currently supported by Exponential Ventures, Pluckk’s footprint extends to Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune, with plans for further expansion on the horizon.
