BathStory raises $100K in an angel funding round from Balboa Ventures and Laxman Vaidya

BathStory, a design-tech firm with a focus on bathroom restoration and interior design, has secured $100K in angel funding. Among the angel investors are Laxman Vaidya, principal at Symphony Asia Singapore, Vaibhav Laddha, former CFO at House of Kieraya, and Balboa Ventures, the investment arm of Ajith Mohan Karimpana, CEO of House of Kieraya.

With the funds acquired from this angel round, the company will invest in technology and develop its operational infrastructure to support its development strategy. The company plans to design and renovate more than 300 bathrooms throughout the course of the following year.

Aadil Merchant, the CEO and founder of BathStory stated, “The bathroom is no longer only a functional space; it now has a place of equal importance to the living room and the bedroom. With more time spent at home and a greater desire to make it lovely after COVID, the home improvement industry has experienced significant development. And this is a tremendous opportunity for us.”

Archana, BathStory’s design lead said, “Today’s Indian consumer is much more aware of design. In the past, people didn’t give much thought to the bathroom beyond its essential functions, but in modern times, it has evolved into the ideal space for relaxation and rejuvenation. Even the idea of his and her bathrooms and powder rooms is slowly making its way into the Indian market, which makes our work in this area exciting.”
