Packaged food retailer Wingreens Farms raises $17 million

Packaged food retailer Wingreens Farms has announced that it has raised Rs. 124 crore ($17 million) in a round led by private equity investor Investcorp. The round also saw participation from social-impact focused investment firm Omidyar Network India.
Through the recently infused capital, the company is planning to acquire brands which make fresh and ethically produced food and beverages to diversify its product offerings. The company also aims to diversify its portfolio and expand its current consumer base.

Commenting about the recent infusion, the Founder and Managing Director of Wingreens, Anuj Srivastava, said, “We are delighted to welcome Investcorp and Omidyar Network India to the Wingreens family. Their valuable experience and resources will empower us to onboard many more new age food and beverage brands on the WingreensWorld.com platform with an online and offline presence”.
Founded in 2011 by Anuj C Srivastava and Arjun Srivastava, Wingreens is a food and beverage startup which has a presence across fast growing categories like healthy snacks, sauces and spreads, spice mixes, bakery items, non-diary milk, fresh juices and many more. The company recently acquired RAW Pressery to expand its product offering. The brand has its presence across more than 200 cities and caters to more than 20 million consumers.
