The online ed-tech platform Unacademy announced that it has acquired Swiflearn, an online face to face tuition platform for school students on Tuesday. The acquisition would allow the company to strengthen its position in the K-12 category and diversify its product offering.
Founded in 2019 by IIT and IIM graduates Abhinav Agarwal and Anand Bolke, Swiflearn is an online education platform which believes in providing personalized and focused tuition to school students from both ICSE and CBSE board.
The CEO and Co-founder of Unacademy group, Gaurav Munjal in a press conference stated, “Swiflearn is building a high impact personalised and scalable learning product that will change the way students learn. Abhinav, Anand and the team have developed a great product that is seeing tremendous traction. We have a shared vision to make quality education accessible and affordable for students of all ages, and we are delighted to have them as part of the Unacademy Group.”

The acquisition comes a few months after the acquisition of Aakash Education Group by its competitors Byjus. The partnership is likely to strengthen the position of Unacademy in the ed-tech space which has seen a paradigm shift due to the global pandemic.
Unacademy was founded in 2015 by Gaurav Munjal, Hemal Singh and Romani Saini for students to gain notable insights and resources. Over a period of time the group has expanded and now entails Unacademy, CodeChef, Relevel and Graphy.
