Rebel Foods picks up a minority stake in Hyderabad based Zomoz

The food-chain giant, Rebel Food announced that it has acquired a minority stake in the dumpling food chain Zomoz for an undisclosed amount thus marking the momo brand’s pre-series A round of funding.
With the funds acquired, Zomoz is looking to expand across the country by setting up 300 retail and cloud outlets in a period of less than 30 months.
Founded by ISB alumnus, Shouvik Dhar in 2015, the Hyderabad based dumpling company has 40 retail and cloud outlets across 5 locations including the metro cities Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The co-founder of Rebel Foods, Ankur Sharma stated, “The momos/dumplings category is witnessing high demand in the delivery space and we have an excellent offering in terms of taste and quality. Looking forward to rapidly scaling Zomos and making it the category leader in the next 2-3 years. ”
Rebel Foods is a Mumbai-headquartered food brand which owns popular food chains like Fassos and Behrouz Biryani. The brand operates over 450 kitchens globally across 60 cities and 10 countries. With the current revenue and profitability status of the company, the market valuation of the recently turned unicorn is likely to rise.
