Ola launches 15 minute Grocery Delivery in Bengaluru

Ride hailing cab service provider, Ola has started piloting a quick delivery service in selected localities of Bengaluru in an attempt to diversify the existing business model. The service would be available for grocery items, pet care as well as personal care products.
The quick delivery service model is an introductory segment of its major ‘Ola Stores’ plan. The mobility unicorn is eyeing for a 15 minute delivery prospect under the model. It intends to foray into the delivery segment across the country post its trial run in Bengaluru.

The Ola app offers mobility solutions to its customers by connecting them to drivers and a wide range of vehicles like bikes, auto-rickshaws, taxis and cabs. The company also offers food services as well as financial services to its clients.
The new segment would allow customers to order from an assortment of 2,000 items across varied categories with a small delivery time. Ola intends to tap collaborations with various strategically placed dark stores in key parts of the city for the same. It however would face tough competition from existing competitors like Swiggy Instamart and Dunzo.
