L&T signs MoU with Tamil Nadu govt. to build data centre in Kachipuram.

Indian multinational conglomerate, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) have entered into an agreement with the govt. of Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday, to build a data centre in the state, according to Economic Times. The company has agreed to build 90 MW capacity data centres and associate units over the next five years in Kanchipuram. This comes after the company mentioned that they signed an MoU with the government of Tamil Nadu in a filling to the BSE.
These hyperscale data centres will provide end-to-end data centre services with multi-cloud managed and cyber security services, digital transformation integration services and application integration service. L&T CEO and MD SN Subrahmanyam has realised a statement stating, “Tamil Nadu is on a growth trajectory, and we are delighted to partner with the Government of Tamil Nadu to propel this growth by building a data centre that will further trigger development by attracting investments and generating jobs for the people of Kanchipuram.”

The government of Tamil Nadu in turn, has promised to provide uninterrupted power supply and other infrastructural support that will boost the project to provide economic and social prosperity for the state and its people.
L&T is expected to provide jobs to 1100 people in this project, 600 of which are direct employment and 500 of them, indirect.
