Better Capital launches $15 million seed state specific fund

Better Capital announced that it has raised a maiden fund of $15.28 million to scale its pre-seed and seed investment strategy. The Better Capital is handled by Vaibhav Domkundwar as its sole General Partner.
The start-up’s fund would be investing in various pre-seed and seed stage startups across various sectors with a median cheque-size of $300,000. The firm started investing in pre-seed stage Indian companies in 2018. Reports state that it closed the fundraiser which aimed at supporting small ventures within 40 hours of launch, which is a record high.

Talking about the recent creation of a fund to support small ventures, the founder and CEO of Better Capital, Vaibhav Domkundwar stated, “Our LPs are not just extremely accomplished leaders, but they are deep believers in what we are doing at Better and want to actively support our founders. We have been fortunate to partner with several firms and have created a playbook to collaboratively co-build with founders from the idea stage and bring the right set of resources including access to top tier operators and global funds.”
Better Capital is a venture firm that builds and invests in category-defining startups at an early stage. The firm has 125 companies under its portfolio with some notable companies like Rupeek, TeachMint, Slice, Jupiter, Open and Khatabook.
