Twitter allows users to remove followers without blocking them


Twitter introduced a feature that enabled users to remove followers on the web without blocking them. Users can re-follow profiles that have been removed. Twitter announced on September 8, this year, that it was testing the web version of the feature.

Previously, Twitter users had to block the profile completely. However, now onwards, the user would have to open his profile and then his followers’ list. Then, click the three-dot handle next to the follow button. Then, select ‘Remove the follower’. The removed user will not be notified of this action.

A variety of other features are currently being developed by the micro-blogging website in order to enhance users’ control and address serious safety concerns. It announced on October 7 that it was testing ‘prompts’ on Android and iOS platforms that would alert the user to the nature of the conversation they are seeking
