Citroen reveals new model Citroen C3 for the Indian market

Citroen C3 has been globally unveiled today ahead of its India launch in the first half of 2022. The C3 is the first of three models under Citroen’s C-cubed programme, and has been specifically developed for emerging markets like India and South America. The C3 will be locally manufactured here in India with more than 90 percent localisation.

This sub-4 meter offering boasts quirky styling, and comes with features such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, steering mounted controls, and USB sockets. It will likely be powered by 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbo petrol units paired with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Keep in mind that this is a near-production model, so the feature list is yet to be finalised. The C3 will go on sale by the first half of 2022 at prices starting from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom). While it sits on high ground clearance and an SUV-like stance, the C3 will rival multiple models like the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and more.

The front fascia features a pair of split-LED headlamps with Citroen’s double-slat grille connecting the two units. The Citroen logo is neatly incorporated in the grille itself and it seamlessly merges with the LED Daytime Running Lamps in the headlamp cluster.

Citroen is expected to offer the C3 with two engines: 1.2-liter petrol naturally aspirated and a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine. Transmission options will include manual and automatic gearboxes. The C3 is 3,980mm long, sits on a 2,540mm wheelbase, and has a ground clearance of 180mm.

There are four variants with body shades: Polar White, Platinum Grey, Steel Grey, and Zesty Orange. Dual-tone colour options include two roof colours: Platinum Grey or Zesty Orange, and can be specced with all monotone body shades.

India is a new market for Citroen and one with significant potential that will soon be the third-largest in the world.
