Indian AI Design Firm Tagbin Raises $10M, Eyes 2027 IPO
Gurugram-based experiential technology company Tagbin has secured $10 million in funding to scale its AI-driven platforms and immersive digital design solutions, with plans to launch an initial public offering by 2027.
Funding Boost from Strategic Investors
The funding round features investments from the SageOne Flagship Growth OE Fund, veteran stock market investor Ramesh Damani, Jyotivardhan Sonthalia, Sanjay Kaul, and the Kurl-on group. Founded in 2013 by IIT graduates Saurav Bhaik, Ankit Sinha, and Chetan Bansiwal, Tagbin operates at the intersection of creative technology and artificial intelligence, delivering large-format digital installations and AI platforms for government and enterprise clients. CEO Saurav Bhaik highlighted the capital’s role in supporting working capital needs for high-value government contracts, including performance bank guarantees that tie up funds for years.
Tagbin reported crossing Rs 100 crore in revenue last fiscal year, with 60% from creative tech projects like interactive museums and 40% from AI solutions. The company targets over Rs 200 crore this year, having achieved 70% already, driven by 25 active projects across SMEs and public sector departments.
Dual Pillars: Immersive Design and AI Governance
Tagbin’s creative arm designs immersive experiences using AR, VR, AI, and robotics for national showcases such as the Prime Ministers’ Museum and public installations like the Netaji hologram. These big-ticket projects, often Rs 30-100 crore each, include interactive museums, smart city displays, and brand centres.
Its AI division builds data unification platforms for policy-making, addressing fragmented government datasets across ministries. Collaborations with NITI Aayog enable AI-driven decision models analysing multi-ministry data for policymakers. State governments in Bihar, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu deploy these for insights and planning, while predictive policing pilots with Delhi and Goa police use crime data analytics for pattern detection and risk forecasting. Recurring revenue from AI licensing and maintenance contrasts with one-off creative deals, positioning it for steady growth.
Scaling Workly SaaS and Global Ambitions
Funds will expand the enterprise SaaS product Workly, integrating communication, planning, and AI agents for streamlined workflows. Tagbin aims to deepen domestic penetration while entering international markets, leveraging its government project expertise. The IPO roadmap by 2027 underscores confidence in blending experiential tech with scalable AI, amid India’s push for digital governance and creator economy tools.
Market Tailwinds and Competitive Edge
India’s experiential tech and GovTech AI sectors boom, fueled by smart city initiatives, Digital India, and rising museum/exhibition spends. Tagbin’s hybrid model—lumpy creative revenue plus annuity AI streams—offers resilience, with government ties providing sticky contracts. In a landscape of pureplay AI startups, its design heritage differentiates via end-to-end solutions from concept to deployment.
Challenges include capex for large projects and data privacy in public AI, but locked-in guarantees and multi-year licences mitigate risks. As AI adoption accelerates in policy and policing, Tagbin’s platforms could capture significant share in a Rs 50,000 crore+ GovTech market.
Path to Public Markets
The $10 million infusion validates Tagbin’s trajectory from niche installer to AI powerhouse, with revenue doubling ambitions and IPO plans signaling unicorn aspirations. Success depends on executing 25+ projects, scaling Workly subscriptions, and navigating tender cycles. For investors like Ramesh Damani, it represents a bet on tech enabling India’s governance transformation, blending creativity with computation at scale.
Tagbin’s story—from IIT garage to Rs 200 crore runner—exemplifies how immersive AI design is reshaping public engagement and decision-making, poised for explosive growth en route to public listing.
