Edtech Startup iDreamCareer raises Rs 12.5 Cr in a round led by Menterra, Artha Impact & GMC

iDreamCareer (iDC), a New Delhi-based edtech startup that provides a one-stop customized career guidance solution, revealed on Tuesday that it has raised Rs 12.5 crore in a round led by Menterra Social Impact Fund. Artha Impact, based in Switzerland, joined the deal as a follow-on investor, as did Gray Matters Capital, based in the United States (GMC).

The funds will be used by iDC to expand its leadership team, add features like a one-stop university application, scholarship, and financing to its offering, and implement advanced technology interventions that, when combined with a best-in-class counseling program, will broaden and deepen the impact of its work.

iDreamCareer (iDC), founded by Ayush Bansal in 2012, is a one-stop customized career navigation solution that assists students in effectively navigating their further education and employment possibilities. The company’s full-stack career and college guidance offering, which includes 1,000+ hours of information on careers, colleges, examinations, scholarships, trustworthy and proven psychometric assessment tools, and tailored counseling, targets high school and undergrad college students.

“Over the last ten years, we have partnered with various multilateral organizations, government agencies, and corporates to give career counseling solutions to 20+ million students,” stated Ayush Bansal, Founder, iDreamCareer (iDC). This funding will assist us in developing a leading career guidance solution that is focused on the future of work and education.”

“This investment in iDC is to address the imbalance encountered by students, especially from poorer households and smaller towns, in accessing excellent information and counseling when deciding their education and career choices,” says Mukesh Sharma, Menterra’s Head of Investments.

“We’re thrilled to make a follow-on investment in iDC,” Smita Sircar, CEO of GMC, said in a statement. Because 85 percent of the career counselors are women, and the B2C offering allows girls to pursue a route toward meaningful employment of their choice, it continues to be a compelling impact investment for GMC.”
