Congo-based startup jambo has raised $7.5 million in seed funding

Jambo is a Congo-based startup that is building Africa’s Web3 user acquisition portal through learn, play and they are giving access to crypto-based income-generating opportunities in Africa. According to experts Web3, which has seen Southeast Asia become the largest market for Web3 is confident about Africa being disrupted by web3 in the same way.
James Zhang is the co-founder and CEO of Jambo who founded this company in November 2021 with both his sisters. He was inspired by the success of the Web 3 project in Southeast Asia across Africa. Zhang said that Jambo partnered with telecom providers to get about 70% discount and sold directly to its users at a 50% discount from the actual cost. He aims to double every African airtime and data.

Since the beginning of 2022, Jambo has signed up more than 12k students across 15 countries( Zambia, Namibia, Madagascar, Morocco, Guinea, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Equatorial Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, DR Congo, Tanzania, and South Africa) take an organized Web 3 course both online and offline. The company said it would allow students to explore opportunities for play-to-earn gaming and decentralized finance. these 10-week programs are available at colleges and across other partner locations where students are signed up by a hundred ambassadors.
In Africa, About 60% of the population are under the age of 24 and 50% of university graduates are unemployed. Mr. Zhang believes that their model of educating users about play-to-earn games and decentralized finance (Defi) can lead to financial prosperity in a way that Africans could never think of before.
