Chennai-based Hawking Defense Services ties up with Australian UAV Technologies


Defense-tech start-up, Hawking Defense Services, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Australian UAV Technologies to forge a joint venture establishment to share technical know-how, tie-up in research and development and involve in joint licensed manufacturing of unmanned systems.

The MoU was signed between the two entities at the Australian office in the Australian Consulate in Chennai. It is one of the first tie-ups between two defense industry companies, since the Australia-India Free Trade Agreement came into effect. Rajeev Koundinya, CEO, Hawking Defense Services and Ken Taylor, Managing Director, UAV Technologies signed the MoU between the two entities.

Hawking Defense Services

Founded in 2021 in Chennai, unmanned systems start-up, Hawking Defense Services aims to prove highest quality, most innovative unmanned systems and virtual technology experiences and to make ever-lasting contributions to the space and defense sector of India. It has Vijanarayan Rapalli as its Managing Director and Rajeev Koundinya as its CEO. 

UAV Technologies is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and electronics company based out of New South Wales in Australia.

Hawking Defense Services intends to use the venture to make technological advancement in drone technology, making cost-effective contributions to the Indian Defense industry. It aims to swell the Indian defense exports.
