Cars24 is making an initial $5 million investment in the venture and will become its first customer. Deployment Inc plans to work with companies across sectors including financial services, consumer businesses, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and technology.
The firm has been co-founded by Jayesh Gupta, who built and leads AI, scientific research and innovation at Cars24, and Aayush Gupta, an AI researcher and engineer whose experience includes xAI, Zomato, Atlassian and Disney+ Hotstar.
Deployment Inc is focused on what it describes as the gap between what an AI model can demonstrate and what a business can reliably use in its day-to-day operations. Its systems are intended to work with companies’ existing data and infrastructure and deliver outcomes measured against business metrics.
It said businesses seeking to transform complex workflows with AI often have to co-ordinate consultants, model providers, software vendors, systems integrators and their own engineering teams.
Deployment Inc plans to provide customers with a single accountable team, built around forward-deployed engineers, or FDEs, who will work within a customer’s organisation.
For each project, the startup said it will select a high-value workflow with the customer and establish a baseline based on measures such as time, cost, accuracy, conversion or customer experience.
Its engineers will then connect AI models to the customer’s data and systems, build and integrate the new workflow and run it alongside the existing process to measure its performance. It said human oversight will remain in place for important decisions, exceptions and escalations.
“Every enterprise will soon have access to powerful AI models. The scarce capability will be knowing how to turn them into systems that customers and employees can depend on,” Cars24 founder Vikram Chopra said.
“I have watched Jayesh and his team build that capability inside Cars24 in workflows where the customer is waiting and the result cannot be hidden. Aayush brings the research depth required to keep that execution at the frontier. We are investing $5 million because we believe they can build the team enterprises trust with their most important operations,” he said.
Deployment Inc grew out of an AI operating model developed within Cars24, where more than 45 AI agents are now used across customer support, sales, financing, vehicle inspections, payments and internal operations.
According to Cars24, its AI agents handle more than one million minutes of customer conversations each month. It said service-request turnaround time has fallen from 32 hours to 30 minutes, while inspection time has been halved across more than 100,000 monthly inspections. It also said the same engineering team now produces three times more output.
Cars24 has previously detailed the expansion of AI across its operations and in June announced a $20 million commitment through Cars24 Labs, its AI-focused build, partnership and investment arm.
Cars24 will use Deployment Inc to continue expanding AI across its own business. The systems, experience and operating methods developed through that work are expected to provide the new company with a production environment as it begins working with additional customers.
“Every new model resets what is possible. It should not force an enterprise to reset its AI strategy,” Jayesh Gupta said.
“We are building the engineering and operating capacity that allows companies to absorb the frontier continuously. Our FDEs will work inside the business, against real constraints, and own the outcome. The product is not the agent. The product is the changed operation,” he said.
Deployment Inc also claimed it has also been recognised as an OpenAI Select Partner for enterprise deployments and it will use OpenAI’s capabilities alongside its own engineering and implementation expertise to build production AI systems for customers.
The company plans to hire 50 engineers this month, primarily forward-deployed engineers, alongside professionals in AI strategy and go-to-market roles. It is also opening its first engagements to businesses seeking to redesign critical operations around AI.
