SatSure Analytics Pvt. Ltd, a Bengaluru-based spacetech startup, is a decision analytics company founded in 2017 by Basu, Rashmit Singh Sukhmani and Abhishek Raju which leverages advances in satellites and big data analytics to help solve the problems which are at the nexus of sustainability of food, water and energy security.

The space tech startup has acquired SaaS platform Croptails for an undisclosed sum with an objective to foray into overseas markets such as Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. The startup is in plans to transform Croptails into a no-code platform for agribusinesses to prototype and also build their in-house tool which can be integrated with SatSure’s Sparta datasets.

Croptails was conceptualized in 2018 by an Indore-based startup OEPP Innovations Private Limited and then was incorporated in the same year. CropTails is a web and android application that is used as an information or data collecting tool by supervisors or field officers, which is then recorded and digitalized on the information about farmers, farms, and crops.

This news about the acquisition has come at a time when the number of space startups has doubled in the country compared to the previous year. The space tech startup has raised $5 Million in a pre-Series A funding round earlier in February, led by Baring Private Equity India and Adian Development Bank’s venture arm, ADB Ventures.
