ZincSearch, a search engine platform has raised $3.6 million in a seed funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. Secure Octane, Cardinia Ventures, and Dell Technologies Capital have also participated. Technology leaders Rob Skillington, Luke Kim, Dan Pinto, Anand Babu, and Alex Gallegos also joined the round.
Managing Director of Nexus Ventures Abhishek Sharma has also joined the Zinc Board of Directors.
Founder Prabhat Sharma quoted that “Almost every company that I have talked to, has complained to me about their log storage complexity and cost, With ELK stack on one side and expensive hosted solutions – the majority of them with Elasticsearch underneath – on another side, we needed a modern easy to use and cost-effective solution that elegantly solves the problem. ZincSearch provides a modern search platform that alleviates the log search and analytics problem.”

Founded in 2022, ZincSearch was created because it was discovered that big business clients were having substantial cost and maintainability issues searching and managing their info. Zinc began as an open-source project on GitHub and has now grown to over 7,900 stars, making it one of the fastest-growing open-source corporate projects in the previous 12 months.
Zinc is based on the idea that setting up and running a search engine need not take up a lot of time. Zinc is built on a current technological stack of Go and VueJS, which allows for quick development and iteration, as well as simple operations and low resource usage for consumers. In comparison to its rivals, zinc has substantially lower resource needs.
