US-Based VideoDB Acquires Indian AI Software Testing Firm Devzery to Strengthen Video Infrastructure Platform

San Francisco-based AI-native video infrastructure company VideoDB has acquired Chennai-headquartered software testing startup Devzery in a strategic move designed to enhance VideoDB’s developer tooling and accelerate its platform expansion across AI-driven video applications. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 2021, Devzery specializes in automating API regression testing using an AI agent that integrates tightly with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This eliminates the need for manual test code, significantly speeding up software development cycles and ensuring higher reliability. Its technology serves prominent clients including Cimpress, Shopflo, and Zeda.io, and previously received $125,000 in funding from Upekkha, an AI-focused SaaS fund and accelerator.

VideoDB, founded in 2023, is building a “video-as-data” stack aimed at empowering developers to query, tag, and build innovative products using live video pipelines. Its platform supports diverse video applications such as surveillance and security monitoring, computer vision model training, and real-time media editing. By integrating Devzery’s advanced AI testing technologies, VideoDB aims to offer a more robust, enterprise-ready platform with quicker deployment cycles, improved reliability, and enhanced developer experience.

The addition of Devzery’s automated testing capabilities is expected to boost confidence in VideoDB’s product stability while opening new possibilities for automation within the AI video ecosystem. The acquisition enables more reliable and scalable video infrastructure development, which is critical as VideoDB grows its footprint in demanding use cases across industries.

Devzery’s founders will join the VideoDB team following the acquisition, bringing their expertise in AI-powered testing workflows to accelerate innovation and product delivery. Importantly, the Devzery product line will continue to operate under the VideoDB umbrella, contributing to the expansion of the combined entity’s presence, particularly in the US market.

Co-founder Hemnaa Subburaj of Devzery highlighted the natural synergy between their codeless, AI-driven testing platform and VideoDB’s mission to make video programmable and searchable in real time. Ashutosh Trivedi, VideoDB’s co-founder, emphasized that incorporating Devzery’s testing engine will make their stack more robust while enabling customers to ship new features faster and support advanced enterprise-grade use cases.

This acquisition also reflects a growing trend of US technology companies acquiring Indian startups to gain access to deep engineering talent and cutting-edge AI solutions. By augmenting its infrastructure capabilities with Devzery’s expertise, VideoDB is positioning itself as a leader in the emerging “agentic web” era, where video content becomes increasingly interactive, intelligent, and integrated into digital workflows.

Overall, VideoDB’s acquisition of Devzery signals a strategic commitment to accelerating innovation in AI video infrastructure and supporting next-generation applications with scalable, reliable solutions. This move is expected to boost VideoDB’s competitiveness in the dynamic and fast-growing AI video technology sector globally.
