US based startup MetaMap raises INR 530 crores in Series B round of funding


The US based fintech startup MetaMap recently announced that it has raised a consolidated sum of INR 530 crores in its Series B round of funding led by Tribe Capital. The round also saw participation from other investors like Craft Ventures, Alameda Research, and Titan Capital along with other prominent angel investors.

Reports reveal that the fintech startup intends to utilize the recently infused capital to enhance its product development technologies as well as to pursue its mission of international expansion as it plans to help billions of people unlock online services and experience upward mobility. Till date, the startup has raised an aggregate amount of INR 630 crore.

Expressing his views on the recent round of funding, the founder and CEO of MetaMap, Filip Victor said, “The world continues to gravitate towards a more fluid, borderless economy that fosters greater participation from individuals who have typically been excluded from global commerce. However, the tools needed to make this vision a reality are still missing.”

Based out of Bangalore, MetaMap allows entrepreneurs to vet individuals and thereby assess their risk profile based on a variety of personal merits, validated by hundreds of data points that MetaMap surfaces. With these merits, entrepreneurs can recognise the whole spectrum of an individual’s profile, from basics like legal identity to more sophisticated qualifications such as biometrics and psychometrics.
