SG AI startup PowerCred raises $1.1m to accelerate expansion

Singapore-based AI startup PowerCred has raised $1.1 million in pre-Series A funding to accelerate the expansion of its Small Language Model (SLM) technology across Asia. The funding round was led by TNB Aura (Scout Initiative) and Tenity. PowerCred specializes in enterprise-grade AI solutions that automate document processing, with key applications in industries such as insurance, healthcare, logistics, and finance.
PowerCred’s AI models process over 1 million documents quarterly for clients including banks, fintechs, and digital wallet providers mainly across Southeast Asia—Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore. The company’s first SLM-powered application helps accelerate eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) onboarding workflows, improving security and speed.
Certified under ISO 27001:2022 and recognized by Indonesian regulators for compliance, PowerCred is positioned as a trusted AI partner for regulated sectors. The new capital will be used for product development, regional expansion, and enhancing advanced AI research to broaden enterprise AI adoption in Asia.
This funding marks an important step in reinforcing Singapore’s role as a hub for enterprise AI innovation and highlights PowerCred’s scalable and privacy-conscious AI technology suited for regulated environments.
