NBA joins $40m series A in US startup Fastbreak AI

Fastbreak AI, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based startup that develops AI-powered sports operations software, has raised $40 million in a Series A funding round. The investment includes participation from major sports organizations such as the NBA, NHL, and TMRW Sports, alongside lead venture capital firms Greycroft and GTMfund. Several professional athletes, including Patrick Cantlay, Kurt Kitayama, Larry Fitzgerald Jr., and Luke Kuechly, also participated.
Fastbreak AI offers advanced scheduling and competition management solutions for professional and amateur sports leagues worldwide. Its flagship product, Fastbreak Compete, helps organizers streamline registration, scheduling, travel, ticketing, communication, and event execution in a unified platform. The company serves over 55 leagues, including prominent ones like the NBA, NHL, AFL, Serie A, and MLS.
The new funding will be used to fuel product innovation, expand into youth and amateur sports markets, and enhance the company’s AI-driven sports operations platform.
This investment reflects growing interest from professional sports leagues in leveraging AI technologies to optimize operations and engage sports communities globally.
