Modi Emphasizes India’s Economic Progress in Startups, IT, and Digital Payments at India-France CEO Forum
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the India-France CEO forum alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, urging French industry leaders to explore investment opportunities in various sectors of the Indian economy. Modi highlighted the ongoing economic reforms and initiatives in renewables, startups, pharma, IT, digital payments, and infrastructure, emphasizing India’s growth potential.
The forum included CEOs from diverse sectors such as aviation, manufacturing, defense, technology, and energy. India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated, “Prime Minister encouraged the CEOs to utilize the investment opportunities in India and be a part of India’s growth story.”
Prominent French business leaders including Guillaume Faury from Airbus, Henri Poupart Lafarge from Alstom, and Peter Herweck from Schneider Electric attended the forum. From the Indian side, leaders such as Hari S Bhartia from Jubilant Life Sciences Limited, Lakshmi Mittal from ArcelorMittal, and Tarun Mehta from Ather Energy were present. Modi acknowledged their role in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic cooperation between India and France.
The Indian government, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, has implemented various measures to improve the ease of doing business, including relaxing FDI norms, implementing the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to encourage manufacturing, and reducing corporate tax.
Modi’s visit to France was aimed at fostering closer ties and exploring further opportunities for collaboration between the two countries. The discussions at the CEO forum highlighted India’s progress and potential in key sectors, emphasizing the country’s commitment to economic growth and development.
