MedWriter, an AI writing helper for doctors, has been purchased by MedPiper, a Y-Combinator and MeITy-funded healthcare startup backed by the Indian government. MedWriter was created by Lonere Labs, a Bangalore-based product development firm led by Abhijeet Katte, who will now drive new product initiatives at MedPiper.
The move is in accordance with MedPiper’s mission to help healthcare professionals better express themselves in the public sphere, particularly in light of the Covid epidemic, when expert opinion and information were in high demand. MedWriter has already attracted over 1,000 doctors and healthcare researchers.
MedPiper intends to establish an ecosystem of products and services that connects healthcare professionals and institutions in order to increase the Indian healthcare ecosystem’s efficiency and capacity.

Bangalore-based MedPiper Technologies is a Y-Combinator-S20 health-tech startup that validates and links doctors and healthcare professionals (HCPs) with hospitals and healthcare organizations for duty vacancies, clinical assignments, and partnerships with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The company has a database of over 65,000 verified healthcare professionals and currently serves 35 healthcare organizations.
MedPiper is affiliated with MeITy, the Government of India, and IIM Bangalore, as well as healthcare-related organizations such as the Indian Dental Association (IDA) and the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA).
