New York Startup Targets 50x Cost Reduction And India-Focused LLM Rollout
New York-based AI research startup Redrob has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Korea Investment Partners (KIP), bringing its total funding to $14 million following a $4 million seed round in 2023. Additional investors include KB Investment, Kiwoom Investment, Korea Development Bank Capital, Daekyo Investment, and DS & Partners. The capital will drive advancements in machine learning architecture for a targeted 50-fold operating cost reduction and development of language models across India’s 22 official languages.
Full-Stack AI Infrastructure From Foundation Models To Applications
Redrob operates a comprehensive AI platform spanning B2B sales lead generation, talent search, skill assessments, and employer-of-record services, powered by advanced techniques like mixture-of-experts models, distillation, and quantization. With 3 million users across 500 Indian universities, the company follows a B2C-to-B2B model where students access free tools during education, transitioning familiarity into enterprise adoption for lower customer acquisition costs.
The fresh infusion supports major 2026 initiatives: free Redrob LLM access for all Indian universities in Q1, Ministry of Education partnerships for nationwide student reach, SMB/startup enterprise suites, and multi-language support by year-end. COO Kartikey Handa emphasized building AI infrastructure for India’s 1.4 billion population, prioritizing accessibility over narrow enterprise focus.
Strategic Backing From Korea’s Largest VC
KIP, managing over $4 billion with 1,100+ investments across tech, biotech, and media, marks this as a key bet on Redrob’s global ambitions from offices in San Francisco, New York, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Seoul. Redrob aims to become the world’s third-largest LLM platform by 2028, leveraging PeopleSearch for high-intent account identification from 19+ data sources to shorten sales cycles.
This round arrives amid surging AI investments, positioning Redrob to bridge student-to-professional AI adoption while scaling cost-efficient infrastructure for emerging markets.
