WizCommerce Raises $8M Series A Led by Peak XV to Scale AI-Powered Sales Platform for Wholesale Distributors

WizCommerce, an AI-powered sales and ecommerce platform for wholesale distributors, has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India). The round also saw participation from all existing investors, including Z47, Blume Ventures, and Alpha Wave Global.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand product innovation and strengthen its go-to-market teams in India and the United States. “We’re doubling down on our product and sales teams. Hiring across the US and India will form a major part of our growth strategy,” said Div Makkar, Co-founder and CEO of WizCommerce.
Building an AI-First Platform
WizCommerce operates teams out of Bengaluru and Gurugram in India, as well as a smaller hub in Abu Dhabi, though about 95% of the company’s revenue currently comes from the US market. The company does not plan to establish active sales operations in India in the immediate future.
Makkar said the firm intends to double down on AI, with plans to launch AI “employees” for wholesalers by Q1 next year, enabling distributors to replace legacy systems and optimize day-to-day workflows. “Our goal is to give distributors a clear path to profitable growth by centering AI and transforming complex processes into intelligent, efficient workflows,” he added.
Gaining Traction in US Wholesale Market
Founded to modernize the legacy-driven wholesale distribution industry, WizCommerce provides a digital-first platform that supports sales representatives and buyers with faster, smarter workflows. Its platform is already used by over 700 sales reps and 300,000 buyers across segments such as home decor, furniture, lighting, gifts, and general merchandise.
The company works with leading US-based distributors including Avandium Trading, Turkana Foods, and Arteriors Homes.
Backing the platform’s mission, Rishen Kapoor, Vice President at Peak XV Partners, said: “Distribution is still largely run on legacy systems. WizCommerce is addressing that gap with an AI‑first product built for the industry’s day-to-day needs. Their early traction shows they’re well‑placed to lead this shift.”
Positioned for Industry Transformation
The funding comes at a time when tariffs, freight costs, and operational inefficiencies are squeezing margins across the wholesale sector. WizCommerce aims to position itself as a category-defining company by directly addressing these challenges.
With its combination of AI-powered workflows, US market focus, and customer-first innovation, WizCommerce is positioning itself as a key enabler of profitable growth for wholesalers navigating an increasingly complex operating environment.
