Urja Sathi, a pioneering sustainable energy-tech startup based in Lucknow, has successfully raised a significant seed funding of INR 3.5 Million. The funding round was led by visionary entrepreneurs and investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain. Notably, Pror In Pvt Ltd, represented by its Co-Founders Neeraj Kumar Pawar and Ayu Sharma, facilitated the seed investment.
Urja Sathi, founded in 2023, recently presented its innovative business model at the PROR India Wealth Summit, securing its maiden funding round after remaining bootstrapped. The startup’s mission is to revolutionize the clean energy sector in India through its one-stop sustainable energy-tech platform, Urja Sathi. The online marketplace is exclusively dedicated to renewable energy-based, environmentally friendly products and services, initially focusing on solar solutions.
Anurag Srivastava, Founder of Urja Sathi, expressed excitement about the funding, stating, “We thank our esteemed investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain for endorsing Urja Sathi’s mission. This investment marks a significant new chapter in Urja Sathi’s journey, fueling our long-term vision of becoming the biggest, most efficient marketplace in India catering to renewable energy.”
The funds raised will be utilized to acquire talent, enhance customer support, and improve marketing efforts, aiming to increase visibility among both B2B and B2C audiences.
Investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain, Co-Founders of Paper Arizona, emphasized the importance of Urja Sathi’s role in transforming the clean energy business in India. “Urja Sathi, with its focus on marketplace, technology, and solar, is poised to positively transform and revolutionize the clean energy business in India,” they commented.
Saurabh Jain, Co-Founder at FSV Capital and advisor at Urja Sathi, praised the startup’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, stating, “Urja Sathi is fostering the best of both ideals and gaining rapid traction in India’s emerging solar business landscape.”
With India aiming to secure 50 percent of its power requirements from renewable sources by 2030, Urja Sathi aims to address challenges such as low awareness among end-users and financial viability issues. The platform plans to launch its flagship ‘Urja Sathi mobile app’ by April 2024 and onboard over 5000 solar manufacturers, EPC players, and sustainable energy solutions providers across India within the next year.
In the future, Urja Sathi will expand its focus beyond solar, including Green Hydrogen, EV, wind, and other emerging segments within the broader green energy landscape in India. The recent seed funding marks a significant step towards achieving these ambitious goals and contributing to India’s clean energy transition.
