Practo’s Ray practice management software now compliant with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

Practo, India’s top integrated healthcare company, has announced that its practice management software, Ray, is now compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Doctors and healthcare professionals who use Ray will now be able to participate in the ABDM ecosystem and take advantage of government benefits, including the Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS). In the future, all doctors and healthcare professionals must use an ABDM-compliant software service, such as Ray, to join the ABDM ecosystem and create digital health records for their patients.

Using ABDM compliant software such as Ray will enable clinics and hospitals to register their practices under ABDM’s health facility registry (HFR), a necessary step to receive DHIS benefits. By creating a QR code that patients can scan and self-register with, healthcare providers can link health records to the patient’s ABHA ID without the need to wait in line. Patient records can be automatically shared with other ABDM compliant clinics or hospitals, with the patient’s consent. Patients will be prompted to share their health record history from other ABDM compliant healthcare providers in this regard.

In addition to ABDM compliance and incentive programs, Ray users will also benefit from other practice management services such as appointment booking and management, digital prescription writing, SMS reminders to patients, and other patient management services.

Furthermore, to promote digital adoption in India’s healthcare ecosystem, the National Health Authority (NHA) recently announced that all health facilities registered on the health facility registry (HFR) will be eligible for incentive schemes regardless of the number of beds. The eligibility criteria for the incentive for a Health Facility or a DSC providing health locker have been expanded to include a maximum of one transaction per day and five transactions per month per ABHA address.

Practo co-founder Abhinav Lal commented, “The future of healthcare lies in digitalization and with the introduction of ABDM, the adoption of digital healthcare is set to increase rapidly. Our mission is to enhance the quality of healthcare for all, and by integrating Ray into the ABDM ecosystem, we have taken the first step towards our larger role in India’s digital healthcare journey. In the near future, we will also achieve compliance with Unified Health Interface (UHI), enabling doctors to reach a wider patient base.”
