Khan Academy Launches Free Online Course to Empower Teachers in India with Advanced Pedagogical Practices

Khan Academy India has unveiled a new offering called “Khan For Educators,” which is a free online certification program for teachers in India. The program provides instructional videos to teachers on how to use Khan Academy effectively to manage students and track their progress. Additionally, it offers training in advanced pedagogical practices such as mastery-based learning and differentiated learning. This certification course is accessible for free in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Marathi, and any teacher can enroll by visiting the website.
The Khan For Educators course aims to assist teachers in seamlessly incorporating Khan Academy into their regular teaching routine and overcoming the obstacles that come with using an online tool. Moreover, the course includes specific training modules for school principals and teacher educators to equip them with the skills needed to effectively assist teachers. Indiamart, India’s largest online B2B marketplace, provided the funding for the development of this course.
Khan Academy has partnered with several state governments in India to provide low-cost public and government schools with high-quality learning content, with the aim of reducing the gap in educational quality between private and urban schools. Additionally, Khan Academy is dedicated to assisting teachers through in-person coaching, establishing a helpdesk to address teacher inquiries, and introducing a self-paced learning program for educators via the Khan for Educators course.
This e-learning program is an efficient means of providing support to educators across India, allowing them to learn at their own pace, which may not be feasible through other means. By offering training opportunities in three regional languages, teachers now have access to top-quality instruction and can receive certification for their commitment to staying current in the field of education.

Khan Academy strives to provide excellent education to people regardless of their location or financial status by utilizing technology and premium content. The company provides various resources and tools to enable educators to create personalized learning experiences for their students, monitor their progress, and determine where they may require extra assistance. Previously, the Khan for Educators course was only available in English and Hindi with restricted content.
The upgraded version of the course now includes the latest trends in utilizing technology for education and is now offered in Marathi and Punjabi to assist teachers from regional medium schools. Khan Academy intends to collaborate with different state partners to provide training to more than 25,000 government school teachers in 2023-24.
