HITEK introduces a specially designed fleet management program FLEETEK

The Farnek Group company HITEK Services, which provides smart IT facilities management (FM) solutions, has introduced FLEETEK, a specially developed fleet management system. The digital solution, created by HITEK’s internal tech team, can improve the efficiency of business transportation fleets. The UAE’s fuel price committee, which links changes in domestic gasoline prices to changes in worldwide oil prices, declared a 9% increase in the price of gasoline in November, prompting the business to announce the introduction of FLEETEK.

Javeria Aijaz, Managing Director of HITEK, said, “The price of Brent Crude has risen by over 10% this year, from $77 a barrel in January to $85 yesterday (November 23)), with an average year-to-date price of $103. however, according to Reuters, a survey of 42 economists and analysts on October 31, 2022, forecast benchmark Brent Crude would average $95 in 2023.”

“This will offer some respite for fleet managers, but with hundreds of vehicles traveling thousands of kilometers a day, fuel remains a major expense, and that is on top of rising interest rates and other inflationary pressures on leasing costs, maintenance costs, and salaries. So, the current focus for many fleet managers will be on cost-saving and, of course, sustainability,” he added.

FLEETEK tracks fleet and driver productivity in real-time by digitizing the whole fleet management process. This is accomplished by a system-based inventory and digital timetable, driven by IoT sensors installed in the trucks and linked to Google Maps to enable tracking and navigation for route optimization.

“This digital process supports operational efficiency and transparency. CAPEX and OPEX data is automatically recorded and communicated through monthly financial reports,” added Aijaz.

According to the press release, operational staff at FLEETEK’s control and command center can compare vehicle inventory with the current and planned demand using the company’s live administrative portal and give drivers instructions (each vehicle is equipped with a dedicated smartphone loaded with an app). Drivers begin their journey after logging in and accepting the notification based on a QR code delivered to their smartphone in the car. To offer the driver the most time-effective route to travel, the solution calculates and compares the estimated and real journey times. It also provides Google Maps-based navigation. IoT sensors that are incorporated into vehicles essentially follow the car and keep an eye on the ignition. Operatives at the control and command center receive real-time notifications about idling and speeding. As demand changes, the operational dashboard on FLEETEK can also create incident reports, plan new transport itineraries, and look for the closest and most appropriate vehicle. Reports that can be created separately or together include monthly comparative spending reports and reports on the assignment and use of vehicles. The driver’s vital driving documentation as well as any previous events or violations can be stored thanks to an extra function. Additionally, maintenance logs for specific automobiles can be kept.

“These reports can be cross-referenced to compare fuel efficiency, driver behavior, average journey times, adherence to routes highlighted on Google Maps, idling times, even wear and tear on tyres,” added Aijaz.
