Havells India has partnered with Swedish tech startup Blixt Tech AB to bring Solid State Circuit Breaker (SSCB) technology to the Indian market. This move is aimed at enhancing Havells’ position in the switchgear sector and showcasing the company’s commitment to innovative and future-proof solutions. A joint statement noted that this collaboration positions Havells to have a substantial impact on the Indian electrical industry.
Havells stated that India’s demand for high-power applications is set to surge in the coming decades, and the power system is predicted to become technologically advanced, intelligent, and capable of IT-enabled data sharing and management technology. According to Havells, SSCBs can interrupt current flow faster than traditional mechanical circuit breakers, and they have no wear and tear due to digital switching, resulting in practically no arc compared to traditional electromechanical breakers. The company stated that SSCBs are expected to be a critical technology for the industry.

Havells India’s Executive Vice President Vivek Yadav said that the partnership will have a significant impact on the future of the Indian and global electrical industry. The Solid State Circuit Breaker (SSCB) technology has versatile applications in the power distribution, renewable energy, data centres, electric vehicles, and aerospace and defence sectors. This partnership with the market leader in India will enable Blixt Tech to scale faster and reach a large market during the rapid transition, said Trued Holmquist, Co-Founder and CEO of Blixt. Together with Havells, they aim to reach millions of customers who would benefit from this new technology, he added.
