Godrej Consumer Names Aasif Malbari as CFO and Nominates Google’s Puchalapalli as Independent Director

Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has recently appointed Aasif Malbari as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as part of a strategic reshuffling. In a statement released on Monday, GCPL announced that Sameer Shah, the current CFO, will transition to a Group role, overseeing consumer investments.
Effective from August 10, 2023, Aasif Malbari’s appointment as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Godrej Group’s FMCG arm has been approved by the Board of Directors. Currently serving as the CFO of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd and Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, Malbari will bring his expertise to his new role at Godrej.
In addition, the Board of Directors of GCPL has given their approval for the appointment of Shalini Puchalapalli as an Independent Director, starting from November 14, 2023. Puchalapalli currently holds the position of Managing Director and Country Head for Google Customer Solutions, where she focuses on developing India’s digital ecosystem. GCPL expressed their confidence that Puchalapalli’s extensive knowledge in digital and technology will be instrumental in shaping GCPL’s growth strategy.
“She will be the sixth woman director on the GCPL board, taking the representation of women directors to 50 per cent, when she joins the Board,” it added. After serving on the GCPL Board for 12 years, Narendra Ambwani, Independent Director, will be retiring in November 2023.
