Elon Musk Appoints Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s New CEO

Elon Musk has appointed Linda Yaccarino, the former head of advertising at NBCUniversal, to lead business operations at his struggling website. Yaccarino will begin her role in six weeks, aiming to improve the site’s profitability. Musk, who will continue to serve as the executive chairman and chief technology officer, plans to remain involved with the website.
Elon Musk has confirmed on Twitter that Linda Yaccarino will lead the transformation of his struggling website into “X,” the everything app. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with Yaccarino after his previous tweet hinting at a new boss without revealing their identity fueled speculation. Musk will retain his role as executive chairman and chief technology officer while working closely with Yaccarino.
Elon Musk, who purchased the social media site for $44 billion last year, faced mounting pressure to appoint a new leader and shift his focus to his other ventures, such as Tesla and SpaceX. Linda Yaccarino’s appointment will make her one of the few women to head a major technology firm, as less than 10% of Fortune 500 tech companies are led by women. Yaccarino’s career has progressed steadily through several of America’s largest media corporations.
