On Friday, OpenAI announced on Twitter that ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are now available in India. According to the company, Indian users can gain early access to new features, such as GPT-4, beginning today.
OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman expressed the company’s love for India in a tweet, where he also shared OpenAI’s announcement that “ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are now accessible in India”. The tweet mentioned that Indian users can avail early access to new features, including GPT- 4.
OpenAI introduced a new and more robust version of the technology used in ChatGPT named GPT-4 in a blog post on Tuesday. The blog stated that this updated chatbot is better at tasks such as composing songs or writing screenplays and is described as “more creative and collaborative” compared to its previous versions.
Starting from Tuesday, OpenAI has made the technology available through data-sharing partnerships, which is accessible for companies such as Morgan Stanley and Duolingo Inc. in exchange for payment. The technology will also be provided to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, who pay a monthly fee of $20 to avail faster and more accessible services. However, the updated technology is currently unavailable for users of the free version of ChatGPT.

OpenAI has developed a new language model called GPT-4, an upgrade to its predecessor ChatGPT based on GPT-3.5 technology. GPT-4 employs deep learning techniques to generate human-like writing and is claimed to be more advanced than its predecessor in areas such as creativity, visual comprehension, and context handling.
It can assist in various creative tasks, including generating and collaborating on music, screenplays, technical writing, and adapting to a user’s writing style.
OpenAI’s new language model, GPT-4, has been improved in its ability to handle longer context, process up to 25,000 words of text, and interact with text from a web link provided by the user. This upgraded capacity can assist in creating long-form content and enable “extended conversations”.
Moreover, GPT-4 has also been developed to handle images as a basis for interaction, such as identifying what can be made with baking ingredients from an image. However, it is not yet known if GPT-4 can process videos in a similar manner.
