Apple to open flagship store in Mumbai in April

Apple is set to launch its flagship retail store in Mumbai next month, with another store in New Delhi also in the works.
The Mumbai store, located in Reliance Industries’ Jio World Drive mall and spanning 22,000 sq.ft., is expected to be a prominent landmark like other Apple stores around the world. The Delhi store, covering 10,000 sq.ft. and situated in the Select Citywalk mall in Saket, is expected to open in the coming months, potentially just days after the Mumbai opening.
Apple is reportedly planning to finalise the launch date of its flagship store based on the availability of its global executives, including Senior Vice President of Retail and People, Deirdre O’Brien, who is expected to attend. It’s uncertain whether CEO Tim Cook will also be present at the unveiling. The company is said to be conducting a trial run of store operations ahead of the official launch.

In January, Tim Cook expressed optimism about Apple’s prospects in India, following a record quarterly revenue in the country. However, the company fell short of revenue and profit expectations for the quarter ending December 31, 2022.
Despite this, Cook emphasised that “India remains a key focus for Apple, with the launch of the online store in 2020 and plans for a physical retail presence. The company is also exploring financing options and trade-ins to make its products more accessible and affordable to Indian consumers”.
