Apple to Begin AirPods Production at Foxconn’s Hyderabad Factory, Mass Production Expected by December 2024

Apple, the renowned phone manufacturer, is set to commence production of its wireless earbuds, the AirPods, at Foxconn’s Hyderabad factory, as sources have revealed.
An investment of $400 million has been approved by Foxconn for the Hyderabad plant, with mass production expected to begin by December 2024. One source stated, Foxconn’s Hyderabad factory will make AirPods.
The factory is expected to begin mass production by December.”
Another insider confirmed this information. Despite sending inquiries via email, both Apple and Foxconn remained unresponsive. AirPods will be the second product category, following the iPhone, to be manufactured in India.
Dominating the global TWS (true wireless stereo) market, Apple’s AirPods held approximately 36% market share in the December 2022 quarter, as reported by research firm Canalys. The subsequent contenders were Samsung with a 7.5% market share, Xiaomi at 4.4%, Boat at 4%, and Oppo at 3%. Xiaomi also joined the trend, producing its TWS in India at the Optiemus Electronics plant in Noida this year.
